Tooth Queen Rough Animation
Here’s a small rough clip I put together to play around with Moho’s rendering:

Good god. So I’m trying to animate the Tooth Queen and it looks like crap. It looks like she just “ice skates” rather than crawls. So I think I just don’t understand how to use the software correctly. Couldn’t be me right? Well, after a little research and going through a tutorial I realize I’ve simply forgotten how to do a walk cycle. I blame it on working in Stop-Mo for so long. In stop-mo you just make the puppet walk.
Walk cycle: the character always returns to frame 1. Then loop it. The fast or slow movement across the screen doesn’t matter, it just makes the character either run or pace. ALWAYS RETURN TO FRAME 1. WHAT IN THE WORD “CYCLE” DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND?? Sorry, just trying to drill it in.
O.K. so Uncle needs a shirt and Nephew needs some pants, but I got quite a bit done this weekend. Here’s a pic:

I downloaded a copy of Papagayo from Lost Marble. I used to use WAVPad to map out lip sync, but this program works so much better. AND it’s free and open source.
This comes from the same makers of the fantastic Moho program for 2D animation. AE is getting a little too involved for the simple Tooth Queen cut-out segment, so I’m going to give Moho a spin first
Well, I got nephew’s skeleton done yesterday. I’m going to try and work on the tooth queen segment today and get a little more familiar with After Effects.
I guess I didn’t miss too much on Cartoon Network or Nick. No new shows and existing shows are running re-runs. The new season of Robot Chicken is great. The second season of the Venture Bros is even better. I’m really waiting on the new 12 oz Mouse. It’s supposed to start in Sept. So many unanswered questions. To hell with Lost. It’s all about ozmo.
Back from Mexico this time and am working on nephew yet again. Some forearm bones going in:
