So it’s over and I’m exhausted. phew. IAD 08 is part of history. The first show was standing room only with people sitting in the aisles. The second show at nine was a little lighter in attendance but at least 2/3’s of the theater was filled.

There were a couple of pieces I could have done without in retrospect (ahem…. Black Rainbow) but all in all everyone seemed to enjoy the show. It was interesting to see the different reactions from the first show to the second. “A Mouse’s Tale” had the first audience rolling in the aisles while it barely elicited a chuckle from the second audience. I think “A Mouse’s Tale”, “Oktapodi” and “What’s Wrong?” were probably the overall crowd favorites.

My buddy Grant showed up to the first show and handed me a DVD of his latest work, Vitrvvivs. I can’t wait to see it.

Next up, Don Hertzfeldt! November 11! His only show in the South East. Get your tickets now ‘cuz there ain’t gonna be no second show.

The DVD is done, burnt and in the hands of the High. phew. I’m meeting with the AV guy there on Saturday and then it’s showtime! Here’s the line-up, but I’m too beat to write up a description of each. Maybe later.

Working my ass off getting IAD together. Finally got Atlanta’s submission in the mail (Thanks Brett). We sent our DVD to 12 different countries including Iran, France, South Korea, and Bosnia- Herzegovina. Now we have to put all the submissions we are receiving together into one DVD by the 28th. I also have to get a preview DVD together for the High Museum. Oh and Don is due here on Nov 10th. ….phew

One thing that’s making things easier this year is YouTube. Last year we had to all get together in my living room to watch hours of crappy animation for 10 minutes of amazing work. This year I’m ripping the DVD submissions to a private YouTube channel and everyone can watch at their leisure.
